Not many people have seen or ridden in a hot air balloon. In Kameoka City, hot air balloons fly frequently from winter to spring. This is because the air currents in the Kameoka Basin are stable, making it the perfect place for hot air balloons to take off.

Because of Kameoka, the balloon festival held in February 2020 was very popular. In February 2020, we will further expand the scale and hold the 2nd Kyoto Kameoka Balloon Festival.The main venue, Hozugawa Waterfront Park, is within walking distance from JR Kameoka Station.The venue is easily accessible from JR Kyoto Station to JR Kameoka Station in 20 minutes by rapid train, and you can easily enjoy watching the competition flights, tethered hot air balloons, trial rides, hot air balloon classes, and a market.
