[Shiomi fan (Kyoto fan)] Forest fan L size

Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture

“New Kimono Kyoto” is a new manufacturing project launched by Kyoto businesses to the whole of Japan. We have further refined the excellent materials and techniques of Kyoto's traditional crafts and local industries, which have a long history and an enterprising spirit, through modern design. These are all everyday tools that bring moisture and shine to your daily life. There is a wide variety of products, including fashion items, tableware, and interior accessories. Moreover, no matter which one you look at, there is a new expression and universal value that goes beyond the familiar image of Kyoto. “Liberation of tradition” and “destructive creation”. Products born from such a challenging "New Kimono Kyoto" bring joy and excitement to daily life and enrich Japanese lifestyle culture.
Shiomi Uchiwa Forest Fan L
As the name suggests, "Mori no Uchiwa" (Forest Fans) are fans shaped like trees. There are four types, one for each season: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The front and back are covered in softly colored washi paper, making them reversible: cherry blossom and light blue for spring, and deep green and ultramarine for summer. Kyoto fans are characterized by their flat surface, as the handle and ribs are not one piece. Taking advantage of this characteristic, part of the surface is hollowed out to express the adorable shape of wood. Furthermore, to make the fan stand upright, a special handle and base are made of wood. When you want to fan, you can remove the fan from the base, and then insert the fan back into the base to make it an interior decoration. Uchiwas have evolved from being a summer thing to being a part of everyday life.

Size: Large/L340×W260mm,
Types: East wind (cherry blossom x light blue), south wind (dark green x ultramarine blue), Nowaki (gingko color x autumn leaves color), Kogarashi (dull color x light brown)
