Kyoto Sightseeing Tour Special Project "Kyoto by the River" Guided Tour
The eternal waterway - A river trip through the nature and history nurtured by shipping on the Hozu River
The journey begins at Kameoka Waterfront Park, a riverside station established in 2010, with a seminar on the history and culture of rivers that have connected people and nature since ancient times, as well as the rich natural environment. Next, you'll tour the facility's waterway exhibition room, where you'll experience seeing and learning about the oldest waterway transport on the Hozu River in Japan, as well as the river's activities that are deeply rooted in people's lives. After learning, you'll board a boat on the Hozu River, which combines power and beauty, and be invited to spend time embraced by the pure flowing waters. As you travel along the "River Road," which weaves together the timeless nature and human wisdom with the historical background of waterway transport, you'll be guided on a journey that allows you to experience with all five senses the culture and scenery that live in the Katsura River basin.
