KYOTO NIPPON FESTIVAL
～Beyond time, the garden blooms～
KYOTO NIPPON FESTIVAL was founded in 2016 and is now celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Set in the iconic space of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, one of Kyoto's most famous shrines, Mika Ninagawa with EiM expresses "tranquility and elegance" through light and shadow. This time, for the first time, she has attempted an installation that combines "living plants" with art.
The plum garden, which changes its appearance with the seasons, blends with the artworks, which change with natural light, creating an experience that seems as if the artworks are breathing. Viewers can experience a sense of immersion as nature, people, and artworks become one, and a sense of the preciousness of time that cannot be returned.
